Everyone has their own idea of what a perfect wedding means for them. For some it’s a simple backyard bash, for others it’s a big traditional hotel wedding. But for me, today’s elegant and relaxed destination wedding in Barcelona is my kind of perfect.
Eti & Francois married in the idyllic garden setting of Masia Ribas, with an al fresco feast under string lights and dancing long after dark.
Their day was perfectly captured in film by Gabby of En Route Photography.
There’s so much to gush over about this beautiful couple and their day, from the pretty ceremony setting and intimate single table adorned with wildflowers, to the chic guests and elegant refreshments.

FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER
The Turkish bride Eti, French groom Francois (both living in London) decided to tie the knot in my beloved Barcelona as they wanted to have a natural grounds where their guests from all over the world can come together to celebrate.
And what a celebration it was… The dancing started during cocktail hour and never quite ended throughout dinner either.
It was one of the nicest days of the summer, with one of the most in love couples, which was only enhanced by the beauty of the amazing house they chose as their venue.

OUR LOVE STORY
We met in London five years ago through common friends.
Francois proposed on our fourth anniversary, on the very last day of a month long and amazing holiday in Asia.
We always wanted a relaxed summer wedding where we can celebrate with our close friends and families.
Our wedding in three words? Relaxed, romantic, intimate.
The venue was love at first sight. Masia Ribas has an amazing garden where we felt like we could be really comfortable.
Processional: La Ritournelle by Sebastien Tellier.

Seeing our guests when we walked down the aisle was the most emotional moment.
It was wonderful to be with the people we love and share our happiness with them.
We both loved our photographer Gabby the moment we saw her. She was very friendly and warm and very professional at the same time.
Also she has taken amazing wedding photos at Masia Ribas before.
We identified that catering and the venue are very important for us and did not want to make any saving on them.
On the other hand we did not have any wedding stationary (we sent e-mail invites) and we did not have a videographer (luckily we have a lot of amazing photos).
THE DECOR & DETAILS
The venue did not need a lot of decoration as it was, gorgeous. We kept it simple with just fresh flowers.
We had a cheese and charcuterie buffet and aperitifs with lots of Cava and wine.
Then we had a sit-down dinner where we had a lobster salad and steak.
We did not want to have a wedding cake and chose to have a dessert buffet with different cakes and desserts.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
We were not very organised and had less then six months to plan our wedding. I think biggest advise that I read about is to be flexible about the day, Fridays and Saturdays get booked up very quickly.
We had our wedding on a Sunday it worked well for us as all our guests are flying from different places. This way we had a lot more availability for the venue and catering options.
We went to Positano after our wedding to enjoy wonderful food, wine and scenery of the Amalfi cost. We’d definitely recommend it!
Such a romantic wedding, I just love the idea of single table for all your guests, it makes it so much more personal and intimate! How beautiful is Eti’s Jesus Peiro gown and that Jenny Packham headband? So pretty.
