Casa Buonocore, Amalfi Coast
Italy’s romantic credentials need little promotion, and it’s consistently a best-selling destination for Mr & Mrs Smith customers. This historic hotel sits just outside Positano on the Amalfi Coast, where Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth retreated post wedding. The hotel is among orange trees and lends itself to spectacular views.
Doubles from £169 per night
Earlier in January, Kate Moss surprised her husband with a trip to this wild woodland hotel in the north of Sweden. Guests can spend their days ice fishing and cooking reindeer around a campfire – an unforgettable experience in an unbelievable location. “I think there’s something incredibly romantic about freezing temperatures,” said Tamara. “My husband proposed in Iceland, which might have something to do with it!”
Doubles from £382 per night
La Mamounia, Morocco
The clashing colours and noise of Morocco make this hotel one of Tamara’s favourite places. With so much to take in, La Mamounia is styled with Moorish opulence and would be wonderful for a honeymoon. It has more than 200 rooms and four restaurants and bars, which can be wonderfully anonymous, while also meaning there’s plenty to do when you venture out of your room. Poppy Delevingne had her second wedding ceremony here last year, so this hotel is more than slick enough for the stars.
Doubles from £310 per night
Soneva Fushi, Maldives
It would be hard to pick a honeymoon hot list without including the magical Maldives. If you’re looking for glitz and glamour and some serious spa treatments, head to Soneva Fushi. It has eco-chic villas and idyllic beach views, and Katy Perry and Russell Brand have checked in, as have Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. “While that’s admittedly not a recipe for staying together, if you want a Hollywood-approved honeymoon, this is where to head!” said Tamara.
Doubles from £889 per night
Parrot Cay by Como, Turks and Caicos
This is the colourful Caribbean at its very best. It boasts an unspoilt, uninhabited and unforgettable beach, and one of the world’s best scuba spots is nearby. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner got married here and, according to insiders, spent their wedding night here too.
