While Amal was previously thought to be paying tribute to her native Lebanon with an Elie Saab or Zuhair Murad gown, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Amal said “I do” in a McQueen show-stopper given her individual sense of style.
The international human rights lawyer is said to have met with fashion extraordinaireSarah Burton earlier this month, the designer who took over the British label in 2010 following Alexander’s death.
The year after, Sarah was commissioned to create Kate’s iconic wedding dress, a feat she called “a real honour” and a “huge highlight” of her career. When the Duchess arrived at the steps of Westminster Abbey, Sarah described the future Queen as “so beautiful, she’s got such an amazing sense of grace and style, it was quite easy to make her look good.”

She added: “I loved making the dress, I loved adapting my ideas to suit the person and the occasion, and we put our hearts into it.
“I respect the intimate nature of that lovely project and I respect the friendships that were forged during it… an instinctive, intelligent, imaginative young woman’s wish for a beautiful wedding dress – or any kind of dress – is the most natural thing in the world.”
It’s therefore little wonder that a bright and beautiful star like Amal would turn to Sarah, who received an OBE from Prince Charles, to design her A-list gown.
Various other celebrities have chosen to mark their special day with the McQueen name, including Liv Tyler and Novak Djokovic’s wife Jelena Ristic.
